Top Tips - Sending Giglets Home

Here are some simple top tips for ensuring using Giglets as a home learning resource goes smoothly.

  1. Remembering login details at home can be tricky! Pupil login details can be accessed by choosing ‘Pupils & Groups’ from the menu bar and then ‘View pupils’. You can then choose to download login letters that can be shared with parents and guardians.

  2. Holding an (online or in person) information session for parents and guardians can be helpful. You can show how pupils will navigate Giglets at home and share top tips for supporting literacy development at home. This guide here can support you in delivering a parent session.

  3. Assign the Giglets texts Read Me! and Hello! to your pupils’ accounts. These will support them (and their parents and guardians!) in navigating Giglets.

  4. We have an example parent letter and newsletter in the ‘Resources’ section. You might like to use or adapt these and send them home to let everyone know a little bit more about Giglets.

  5. Keep an eye on your Giglets messages. Sending Giglets home means that parents or guardians might contact you using the Giglets messaging function. This can be great for facilitating communication but it’s also good to have a shared understanding of expectations. Giglets messaging can be turned off by the Giglets Lead if your school has a preferred method of communication.
