

Shared Highlighting
Teachers can highlight words, phrases or passages of text that pupils will then see when reading.
Teachers might choose to highlight:
text that is particularly effective,
specialist vocabulary,
text features, or,
text with a particular feature, for example, rhyme or phoneme.
When adding notes, teachers might choose to:
add explanations to text that might be challenging,
add prompts for reflection or discussion, or,
add details on follow-up tasks for pupils.
