Book covers are an incredibly important part of the reading experience.
They attract attention, set expectations and provide visual clues. They convey information, spark imagination and enhance the overall reading experience which can be vital in promoting a love of reading.
When pupils design their own front covers they are prioritising information, deciding what elements of a text they believe to be important based on what they have read. They are also given the opportunity to unleash their creativity!
